Jeanne de Salzmann (born Jeanne-Marie Allemand) known as Madame de Salzmann was born on 26 January 1889 and died on 24 May 1990 in Paris. She was the closest pupil of the Greek-Armenian spiritual master Gurdjieff and for many years after his death was instrumental in establishing and spreading his teaching throughout the world. She was responsible for making several films of Gurdjieff’s movements, which are practiced by members of various groups in different countries.
